But Matt Topham’s childhood sweetheart Casey Carrington has nothing to worry about as it doesn’t get too messy
Euromillions winner Matt Topham sports a pair of antlers as he strolls through Amsterdam with friends on his stag do.
Big-hearted Matt, 22, paid for his dad, two brothers and eight friends to join him on the boozy weekend ahead of his wedding to childhood sweetheart Cassey Carrington.
The down-to-earth ex-painter and decorator, who won £45million in February, flew the group in on budget airline easyJet.
He put them up in a three-star hotel in the heart of the city’s notorious red light district, telling them: “Everything’s on me.”
But the good news for Cassey, also 22, is loyal Matt and his party kept away from the seedy joints of the Dutch city’s dark underbelly.
The weekend kicked off at a bar called Teasers – followed by lunch at McDonald’s.
Matt sported a pink T-shirt with his face printed on a groom’s body over the words Game Over. On the back it said Tanked Up – just like the others’ black T-shirts.
A British tourist who recognised him said: “They wandered from bar to bar having a beer in each. They weren’t rowdy and didn’t go anywhere near the coffee shops or prostitutes. Apart from that they looked like any other stag do.”
At one point, Matt had vodka punch poured into his mouth by a blonde barmaid. Later the lads had a laugh at prostitutes in the windows of the red light district. Matt’s older brother Paul was overheard complaining: “I just find all this so repulsive.”
They were taken by a guide hired for the night to the Players sports bar, where they downed vodka shots in a private booth. They also hit the dance floor of a packed Irish pub.
At midnight they returned bleary-eyed to their hotel. A fellow reveller said: “They looked tired but not too drunk. It seemed they’d had a top night.”
Matt and former Iceland manager Cassey, also 22, will wed in the next few weeks at the four-star Risley Hall Hotel, near their modest three-bedroom house in Nottingham.
A pal said last night: “They’re really generous with their money but not at all flash. They are determined for it not to change them. They can’t wait for the big day and want all their friends and family to have a brilliant day.”
